I know its hard to believe, but summer will be over before we can blink an eye. I’ve got good news though! Fall releases are out and are looking HOT! So even though the weather might be taking a turn, I hope these carefully selected items will keep you warm (click on pictures for links).
Lets start with your feet…
Sneakers (high-top) – This style keeps getting better and better! I like wearing my high-tops with biker denim, tucked in.
Boots – If I am looking for something a little dressier than a sneaker, but still casual cool. I think these Chelsea boots would are perfect.
Slip-ons – I don’t care if it’s not summer, slip-ons are year round for me (weather permitting) – As I’ll be living in a warmer climate, I just want them to have darker tones.
Moving up from the feet, next on the list… your legs.
Denim – Maybe it’s because I’m Canadian, I don’t know… but I could literally live in denim. The fact that jeans have become so versatile help make wearing them so often easier and easier. Keep your denim fitted, don’t be afraid to see a tailor… I kid you not, find a tailor.
Biker Denim – Sometimes it’s all about the details. Biker denim is in, and I love it!
Joggers – Important message – Please continue reading… Sweatpants are NOT only meant to be worn around the house anymore. Major designers are making the super comfy pants something we can wear out. My advice – what you wear on top will help either dress up, or make more casual the entire look. I’m a fan of the jogger, tapered fit for sure.
Hoodies – I love wearing my hoodies in the fall and winter. Great for layering and staying warm. Pop your hood out of a leather coat or bomber… and bam!
Button Down – I’ve had my issues with the “button down” – let me briefly explain. If I’m wearing denim and I tuck my flannel button down into my pants, I may as well sign up for the local lumberjack convention. Not happening. I find many button downs are an awkward length to not tuck in. Have no fear, I’ve found some brands that keep the length short enough that not tucking them in, seems to be they way they were designed. Then of course, you can go the absolute opposite and go for a super long fit, like the Fear of God below. It’s got to be one or the other, the in between is just awkward.
Shirts – I clearly couldn’t come up with a more descriptive word to call this category. But these all had to be included in the category of “stuff you wear on top”. A super cool layering option from AMIRI – the killer inside out tee from Fear of God – and a more dressed up cardigan from Ralph Lauren.
Bombers – If you have been asleep all summer from too many late nights or possibly in a coma, it’s possible you missed the fact that bombers are IN this season. So many options, designers and colors, it’s awesome but hard to pick favorites. I’m a fan of them being fitted, however with enough room for a hoodie to layer underneath. Don’t buy the first one you find, enjoy the hunt.
Jackets – These aren’t your “winter coats” – but a couple cool options for fall.
The Leather Jacket – Buying the right leather coat is a serious decision. Leather coats, if you buy the right one, can last a lifetime. Maybe if you spend enough money, you will also be forced to maintain your weight through all those years? May actually be a weight loss tool. There are so many luxury brands creating amazing options with a plethora of leather options. Make sure you try these on first as these can be a big purchase.
Watches – I thought I would add this section, even though it deserved it’s own post. These two watches recently caught my eye. The new Rolex Yacht-Master is stunning. Maybe one of the nicest watches I’ve ever seen. I’ve been a huge fan of the Yacht-Master 2. This is a sportier option that is a definite show stopper. My other selection is from MVMT watches. This brand has really blown up over the past couple years, with really an extremely strong social media presence. Their mission is to provide quality watches that don’t break the bank. They take out all the “middle men” and provide quality watches at affordable prices.
I told you, just because summer is coming to an end doesn’t mean your world is also ending. Cooler weather just provides us men with different opportunities to freshen up our wardrobe. Hope you enjoyed my selections as much as I did finding them. Now, get shopping.
