When I’m not seen wearing my daily outfits on Instagram I can normally be found on the golf course. Golf has been a passion of mine for many years. I discovered iliac Golf by Bert LaMar about a year ago. They have some killer golf clothing and accessories. I recently found out they would be launching a lifestyle line! I had to see for myself… But before we can begin to look at iliac Lifestyle line, it’s important to understand a little more about iliac as a company. iliac by Bert LaMar was launched in 2005 and has always been focused on golf. But… lets be clear, this isn’t just your run of the mill golf company.
Fashion has always been part of Berts family. His grandmother was a seamstress at Singer for 30+ years. His mother has her own wedding dress line and his father owned a plastic tool and production company. Bert’s first passion in life was skateboarding. Most of his family dinner conversation revolved around his pro skateboarding, pro snowboarding career and fabrics, materials and design. At a very young age Bert traveled and competed as a professional skateboarder against the likes of Tony Hawk. At the age of 20, Bert began his second passion, snowboarding.He had an extremely successful professional snowboarding career and won 3 World Cup Championships. He used his success and launched LaMar Snowboards. His company was one of the leaders in the industry in the 90s. He sold his company in 2001 and has since moved on to his third passion, golf. After spending years playing the mini tour in Southern California, Bert decided to take his passion for golf and his experience developing LaMar Snowboards and created iliac Golf by Bert Lamar.
iliac has definitely developed a loyal following since it’s launch in 2005 . Their unique products and accessories are carried at some of the most prestigious golf clubs in the world. Targeting a more high-end and sophisticated consumer. iliac also has a great list of professional ambassadors on the PGA. These pros include Retief Goosen and the youngest person to earn his PGA card, Si Woo Kim. Also more than 70 players on the PGA are using iliac accessories.
Bert continues to create some great innovative products including rain gear that doesn’t make a sound. This I must try! Here are a couple of my favorite golf pieces.
In late January iliac will officially launch its lifestyle collection. I had the pleasure of being the first blogger to get a look at what to expect. A few pieces are already out and I managed to see some unreleased stuff which definitely caught my eye. Here are a couple of the highlights.
Anyone who follows my fashion knows I love denim. I’m a bit of a denim snob to be honest. I got a look at iliac denim and was very impressed. The cut was nice and had a perfect tapper. The position of the back pockets were a little lower then normal and I loved they way they looked while being worn. They croc details were also a very unique touch.
There was also a half zip hoodie that looked great. I was totally digging the holes in the sleeves for your thumbs. Makes life to much easier to put a coat on and not have your sleeves bunched all the way up your arm. Plus… it keeps you nice and warm.
The hats are also great! The flat brim mesh backs are sick! Simple and definitely something I would add into my rotation.
