ROLEX YACHT-MASTER II Reviewed

The Rolex Yacht-Master II is one of my favourite Rolex watches. I’ve lusted after the design and specify the stainless steel with the pink gold model. When one crossed paths with Previously Enjoyed I knew I need to test out this timepiece and see if it met all my expectations. I haven’t taken the watch off since I received it and this is one you will want to know more about. Let’s do it!

The first Rolex Yacht-Master was produced in 1992. The first model was 16628 and came in a 18K yellow gold. rolex-yacht-master-16628-36

In 1997 Rolex produced the Yacht-Master in Rolesium. Rolesium is a term Rolex uses to describe a watch thats produced in stainless steel and platinum.

Then in 2007, the Rolex Yacht-Master II regatta chronograph watch was released. It was the first watch equipped to countdown from 1 to 10 minutes with a mechanical memory.

In 2015 the Everose Yacht-Master was released and was the first ever Rolex watch to come with a rubber strap. The strap was known as the Oysterflex.  It was a stunning addition to the Yacht-Master lineup.

Testing with Previously Enjoyed is always fun, but sometimes I get to test out a gem. For as long as I’ve enjoyed watches and since my first purchase (about 13 years ago), the Yacht-Master II has been a favourite. I’m so fond of the blue bezel. It’s a very recognizable element to the Yacht-Master II and I think the pink gold punch through it is striking. I like all the different Yacht-Masters II, but the two tone version we are looking at today is by far the best. The way the pink gold contrasts with the stainless steel is beautiful and is wonderful executed by Rolex on many of their watches. But the way the pink gold pops up against the white face is truly impressive. I just feel like it gives so much more punch to this already amazing model.

This was is so pleasing to the eye (or at least my eyes). I loved the way it looked on even more then just the watch itself. It’s measuring 44mm but doesn’t seem too large for an average wrist size. It has some weight to it but was still extremely comfortable wearing for a full day period.

If you’re considering a Yacht-Master II and looking to save a couple bucks – this could be an excellent option. The watch is pristine and you will even carry the international’s Rolex warrantee until March 2025.
