In 1926 Rolex created the first waterproof watch, named the “Oyster”. It was in 1931 that Rolex first produced the “Oyster Perpetual” model. The model hasn’t changed much in its almost 100 year history, proving its timeless style ages gracefully. The model I’m reviewing from Previously Enjoyed is a 39mm. This size was taken out of production in 2020 and replaced with a 41mm. 2mm may not seem like a lot, but it makes a huge difference! In the watch world, the 39mm not be in production any longer has just increased its demand.
Lately, the stainless steel Rolex category has been insane! Just try walking into a Rolex boutique and ask them if they have any “Oyster Perpetual” available to look at… they will laugh you out of there. The overall demand for a stainless steel Rolex has made these watches even more a collectors piece than before.
This watch doesn’t have fancy complications or luxury metals. Its simplicity and elegance is what makes the watch so timeless. Its bracelet is fantastic, it’s an oyster bracelet with brushed links. Oystersteel is extremely resistant and once polished it maintains its beauty even in the harshest environments.

This watch was fun and easy to wear. It has a super comfortable Oyster bracelet and nice case size of 39mm. I can picture a ton of people buying this watch and never needing another one. It says just enough, without saying too much. It’s simultaneously timeless and on-trend. It has a sporty edge mixed with a classic style. There are not many watches you can be sure in 50 years it will still be in style, I would bet the Oyster Perpetual would be a model that is. The Rolex “Oyster Perpetual” will surely be a contender for the only watch you will ever need!
