It seems to be what everyone is talking about… layer this and layer that, and that is great for layering. Are we all just nodding are heads because we don’t want to look like the only person not in the know. Lets break it down. What is layering and how do we do it properly.
When I’m not seen wearing my daily outfits on Instagram I can normally be found on the golf course. Golf has been a passion of mine for many years. WOW… I can hardly believe it’s been a year since I starting my “Trendstepper” social media accounts. My journey began as a hobby and developed into something I’m becoming very proud of. I’ve learned a ton about social media, fashion ,and most importantly, myself. I thought it was about time to circle back and answer the question that first caused me to create this blog. Why would anyone want to read what I think about fashion and what qualifies me to write a blog? Well… I’m going to at least try and answer what I know up to this point. This post may not be for everyone… so I’m giving you a chance now… quit now or don’t blame me if you don’t like what you read. No… seriously, my post last week has some killer ideas for fall.

It was June 2014 when I started an Instagram account I called “trendstepper”. I was looking for a place to share my passion for mens fashion as well as explore my individual style. It didn’t take long before I was hooked. I learned about an entire network of people who share the same interests as me. Instagram has connected me with so many great people that today I can call friends. This journey has been a blast so far and I want to thank all my followers for their continued support. I’m overwhelmed by the amount of people interested in my posts and support I’ve received from most my followers.
In my first blog post, I asked myself and you why on earth you should read my fashion blog. I also asked what qualifies me to write about fashion. If you were hoping for an answers… I still don’t have one for you yet. I feel like everyday I’m learning, being inspired, and growing my knowledge in this fast moving fashion industry. I can only hope you are enjoying my content and being inspired while watching my journey.
I wanted to show that sometimes you don’t have to pay the big bucks to get the big bucks look. I own both these T-shirts and this morning I couldn’t believe how similar they were… Similar except for the price that is. So I thought it would be fun to see who could pick which T was more expensive based on the look alone…

Here is what I can tell you about the major differences in these tees. The Alaxander Wang one may be a little softer. It does have nicer finishing on the sleeves as well. The Bread & Boxer tee is soft also. It may not have the small details like the Alexander Wang tee but I’m still a big fan. The Alexander Wang also needs a little more TLC when being washed.
What have we learned today… I’m not really sure to be honest. I shouldn’t have paid more for the Alexander Wang tee… I’m not going to say that. I guess quality can be in the eyes of the beholder. I myself like both shirts and if I know I’m going to get a little dirty (baby puke), then I’ll probably lean towards the less expensive of the 2.
I’m all about the plaid craze right now. So many ways to wear the button ups. And under a leather jacket is gives the look real edge. Paired with my gold Buscemi 100s (they have some cool new shoes out right now) and Dsquared denim. I can’t get over how soft the denim is wearing these jeans. My first pair… Won’t be my last. I love this sweater by the Australian brand Coogi – big names like Biggie Smalls made the brand famous in the 90s – now they are resurfacing. The oversized jacket by Kayne is great in the colder temps to layer under. And even if my Golden Goose kicks get a little dirty in this weather… No one will know the difference 😉 now that’s what I call smart style
