My favourite way to dress is to layer. Layering long tees with sweatshirts, mixing flannels with a bomber, and hoodies all the time! But every year this crazy thing happens… it’s called summer! This is my second summer in Los Angeles and let me paint a little picture of you. It is friggin hot! Most days feel similar to hanging out in a sauna… fully clothed. Layering just isn’t an option at this time of year, so let’s find some ways to make summer outfits as fresh as the rest of the year.

The men’s fashion industry seems to have new brands, collaborations, and exclusive releases daily. It’s like a full time job just to try and keep up with what’s happening next. One missed email and you might miss out on a piece you have been lusting after. I’ll be honest, I’m just as overwhelmed as everyone else. It can be difficult to sort the ‘crap’ from the stuff you really want to know about. There is no question social media has given a voice to… well… anyone. Anyone can launch a brand, create a replica, or create hype. I’ve narrowed my list of ‘mens designers to check out now’ to six. I wear all these guys and I’m even more excited about what they have coming for fall and winter…
Last nights pre-ESPY awards affair at Maxfield in Los Angeles was fantastic. A party at my favorite store, how could it not be! The night was hosted my New York Giants Odell Beckham Jr. And fashion designer Mike Amiri. The music, food and overall vibes made for a super fun and chill night out. Great to see such a huge turnout and so much support for AMIRI.
Shoes are my favorite part of most outfits to be honest. A good pair of shoes can make or break an outfit. That’s why it’s so important to pick the right pair for our ‘sorta’ dressing up look. I always like the idea of having some fun with my footwear, so here are a couple great option.
I know its hard to believe, but summer will be over before we can blink an eye. I’ve got good news though! Fall releases are out and are looking HOT! So even though the weather might be taking a turn, I hope these carefully selected items will keep you warm (click on pictures for links).

Lets start with your feet…
Sneakers (high-top) – This style keeps getting better and better! I like wearing my high-tops with biker denim, tucked in.
Why can’t we wear our leather coats right NOW??!! Most of us only sport our leather jackets in fall and spring. Seems like a shame, no? We spend a lot of money on these pieces, so let’s see if we can get a little more use out of them. Too be honest, I’m getting a little tired of my parka right now. Here is my favorite way to keep leather garments in rotation all winter long… layering.
Layering is practical in cold weather, looks awesome, and you get to wear lots of different pieces all at once (like leathers)… bonus. The key is to make sure you don’t look sloppy. Keeping things fitted will help you look cool. The pieces should look like you planned them, not like you got dressed in the dark.

Don’t be afraid to bundle your layers up by busting out a heavy knit sweater of fitted hoodie (love the look of a hood coming out of the collar of a leather jacket).
